Maltese midfielder has Everton trial

17/02/2012    14

Maltese midfielder Bjorn Kristensen flew to England earlier this week to begin a trial with Everton. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in Maltese football.

Francisco Júnior set to sign as free agent

13/02/2012    40

Everton were today expected to complete a deal for highly-rated Portuguese midfielder Francisco Santos Silva Júnior.

The 20-year-old, who is out of contract after spells with Benfica and Manchester City, will join on a free transfer after Goodison officials have solved some final red-tape issues.

Silva Júnior, a right-footed defensive midfielder, left the Portuguese giants to join City's elite development squad last year, but was unable to break into Roberto Mancini's expensively assembled first-team squad.

However, he impressed in a series of friendlies and academy games for the Etihad club, and Moyes has been monitoring the player's progress since learning he was to become a free agent.

If all goes to plan, the Guinea-Bissau- born midfielder will link up with the Blues first team squad and add extra depth to a midfield which loses the services of USA international Landon Donovan after next Saturday's FA Cup fifth round tie with Blackpool at Goodison.

Moyes linked with free-agent swoop

11/02/2012    2

Everton are reportedly interested in bringing in 20 year-old Portuguese midfield prospect Francisco Santos Silva Júnior.

The Guinea-Bissau-born player is apparently out of contract and has been a part of Manchester City's development programme after leaving Benfica last year.

Vellios considered for Foxes loan

08/02/2012    15

Leicester City are reportedly looking at Everton striker Apostolos Vellios as a possible target when the loan window re-opens today. However, sources close to the Merseyside club believe that Toffees manager David Moyes may be reluctant to loan out the 20-year-old Greece Under-21 forward after selling Louis Saha to Tottenham.

Vellios joined Everton on a four-year deal 12 months ago from Greek club Iraklis for around £250,000.

He made his first-team debut in April last year, ironically, going on as a replacement for Jermaine Beckford, and has scored three goals for Leicester City — against Wigan, Chelsea and Bolton — in a total of 16 appearances.

Spartak eyeing Heitinga

03/02/2012    37

Not content with having signed Diniyar Bilyaletdinov from Everton last week, Spartak Moscow are apparently interested in bringing John Heitinga to Russia as well before their transfer window closes in the middle of this month.

At a mere £4.2m, though, and with David Moyes short on fit centre halves, that's got to be a non-starter.

Heitinga has two and a half years left on his current contract and would surely command a transfer fee of at least double this reported amount.

Everton too small for Gignac

02/02/2012    30

Andre-Pierre Gignac says he turned down the chance to join Everton in January because the club is not big enough.

The 26-year-old was the subject of much speculation during the January transfer window but opted to stay with Marseille rather than move to England with Everton.

Gignac is out of favour with the French club but clearly has a high opinion of himself after declaring he would only move to a top four club in the Premier League.

"Everton is a top Club in England but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive," Gignac told skysports.com. "I want to play one day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester Uniteds of this world.

"I do want to make a name for myself at Marseille. I love the club."

Moyes prepares to sell Silva

01/02/2012    7

Everton could cash in on young Portuguese striker Joao Silva, with clubs in Romania apparently interested in landing him before their transfer deadline in mid-February.

According to the Mail, Silva was recalled from his loan at Vitoria Setubal on Tuesday where he scored three goals in 16 appearances. His opportunities at Goodison Park look slim with a number of strikers jostling for position at first-team level.

Otelul Galati and FC Cluj are apparently showing interest in Silva and by recalling him from Portgual, Moyes may be preparing to sell him on.

Pienaar coming back to Goodison?

31/01/2012    21

Speculation was rife this evening that while Louis Saha is set to make a surprise move to Tottenham, Steven Pienaar could be returning to Goodison Park on a loan-to-buy basis, although reports suggesting the South African was on his way to Finch Farm were quashed with sightings of him on the pitch at White Hart Lane around 6.30pm.

Indeed, Pienaar was named among Spurs' substitutes for their game against Wigan this evening and even though the BBC's Phil McNulty suggests that the deal is a "still a possibility" it does look unlikely at this point.

Adam Johnson on loan?

31/01/2012    1

According to The Mirror, Everton are trying to seal a last-minute deal to take Adam Johnson on loan for the rest of the season.

Rather Rum Rodallega Rumour

26/01/2012    11

According to "Footy Bunkum... ", sorry, that should be "Bunker" — David Moyes is supposedly ready to firm up his interest in Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega in an attempt to boost his strike force before the transfer window closes.

Reports indicate that Moyes is preparing an offer for Rodallega who has already stated his intention to leave the DW Stadium in the summer. The Toffees chief is apparently confident he can persuade the 26-year-old to make the switch to Merseyside this month rather than wait until the summer.

Shock move for Kevin Doyle

29/01/2012    30

Sky Sports sources understand Everton are weighing up a shock move to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle before the close of the transfer window.

Doyle is no longer first choice at Molineux due to the impressive form of Steven Fletcher this season and has started only one of the last six Premier League matches.

The Republic of Ireland international has also scored just twice in the League this term and has been linked with a January move away.

He was mooted as a target for Everton last summer, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insisted the 28-year-old was not for sale.

The Toffees were also rumoured to be interested in signing Doyle from Reading before the forward joined Wolves in a big-money deal in 2009.

£5M for ex-Spurs misfit striker

27/01/2012    2

Update: El Hamdaoui on the verge of signing for Fiorentina

Everton are supposedly closing in on former Tottenham misfit Mounir El Hamdaoui, according to reports in Holland.

The Moroccan has fallen out of favour at Ajax after an argument with manager Frank de Boer and is yet to appear for the Eredivisie giants this season.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claims it is Everton who are now most likely to land him before the transfer window shuts - although there is also interest from Spain, Italy and France.

It is understood that the 27-year-old would join David Moyes's side on a loan deal until the end of the season when the manager could buy him for an agreed £5m fee.

El Hamdaoui set for La Viola

28/01/2012    7

Another hotly-reported transfer target of David Moyes is heading elsewhere with reports in Italy suggesting that Mounir El Hamdaoui is to undergo a medical at Fiorentina this weekend ahead of sealing a switch to Serie A from Ajax in Holland.

The 27 year-old had an unproductive spell with Tottenham a few years ago but excelled at AZ Alkmaar and was named Dutch footballer of the year in 2008-09.

He is out of favour at Ajax now, though, and was strongly linked with Everton this month but now seems destined for La Viola.

Moyes eyes Maynard on a free

26/01/2012    19

Everton are hoping that Nicky Maynard stays put at Bristol City this month in the hopes of snapping the striker up on a free transfer in the summer.

The 25 year-old forward reportedly turned down a move to Wigan this week and could sign a pre-contract agreement with Everton with a view to following Jermaine Beckford's footsteps from the Championship to Goodison Park.

Moyes turns his attentions to Hoarau

26/01/2012    5

David Moyes has switched his focus from Eder to Paris St Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau, according to the Mail and The Guardian.

As ever, the Blues are looking at an initial loan option for the 27-year-old who is also wanted by West Ham.

Cerci still an unlikely option

26/01/2012    0

Alessio Cerci looked destined for Genoa a couple of days ago but the latest press reports have suggested that the Fiorentina winger is stalling, hoping that Manchester City will put in a late bid to bring him to England.

A tweet by Agent_ITK (where ITK stands for "in the know") tonight, however, claims that it's Everton who have agreed a loan deal for the winger.

Subsequent tweets claim that this latest Cerci-Everton story is false, tweeted from a fake account, but until the player's future is decided, the links will surely persist!

Speculation in the Mail a few days ago suggested that the Blues were looking at a loan with a view to making the move permanent in the summer.

Everton join the pack chasing Butland

25/01/2012    11

Everton have joined the rest of the known universe in tracking Birmingham's highly-rated goalkeeper, Jack Butland.

Earlier this month, Tottenham were linked with a £2m for the player who was watched by representatives from 52 different clubs at one recent fixture.

In addition to Everton, Southampton are mentioned as possible suitors for Butland in the Mail's report.

Turkish target joins Rennes

24/01/2012    3

Update: Turkish international Mevlut Erdinç, recently linked with Everton after falling down the order at free-spending Paris St Germain, will complete a move to Rennes tomorrow according to reports from Turkey.

Reports claimed that Everton have offered an initial loan until the end of the season with the view to a €6m permanent deal in the summer but PSG preferred a cash deal this month.

The 24 year-old was also being tracked by Fulham and Sunderland.

Two 'targets' heading elsewhere

24/01/2012    0

Two of David Moyes's rumoured targets are on the verge of signing for other clubs according to reports.

Mounir El Hamdaoui is apparently on the verge of joining Espanyol after falling down the pecking order at Ajax and Alessio Cerci looks destined for Genoa (which is where he was always going, it seems, contrary to the Mail's assertions that Everton were about to land him).

Burnley weigh up McFadden loan

24/01/2012    2

James McFadden could be offered a route to regular first-team action for the remainder of the season with a loan move to Burnley.

Clarets boss Eddie Howe is keen to add striking options to his squad and McFadden's opportunities at Goodison have been limited since he re-signed on a free earlier this season.

Wigan “interested” in McFadden

23/01/2012    27

Wigan Athletic are interested in James McFadden, or so say the Mail in a report that also suggests that the Latics are looking to pick up rumoured Blues target Nicky Maynard from Bristol City for £2m.

McFadden re-signed for Everton as a free agent earlier this season but has has managed just one start, that in the FA Cup against Tamworth earlier this month.

Bily now heading to Spartak Moscow

23/01/2012    1

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov is heading to Spartak Moscow for around £7m, according to reports in Russia. The 26-year-old, who has made just seven Premier Lleague starts this season, joined the Goodison Park side from Lokomotiv Moscow in August 2009 for £9.5 million.

After impressing during his first season on Merseyside, Bilyaletdinov's inconsistent form has meant he has struggled to hold down a regular first-team berth under David Moyes.

The winger admitted his desire to leave Everton earlier this season, fearing his lack of first-team action would harm his chances of securing a place in Russia's squad for Euro 2012.

The People broker Everton stars

23/01/2012    3

The People claims without anything beyond pure supposition that David Moyes could be forced to sell another big name at the end of the season, despite cashing in on Mikel Arteta last summer. They say that could mean England trio Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and Jack Rodwell all being targets for predatory rivals.

But, despite their provocative headline, there is no evidence that Moyes has actually said he is faced with having to sell again, unless the club is taken over by wealthy new owners.

Everton move for Eder

21/01/2012    11

Everton are ready to move for Portugal U-23 international Eder according to the Daily Mail.

Both David Moyes and Steve Round have watched the 6 ft 2 in striker and, with the Guinea-Bissau-born player out of contract this summer, he would fit the Blues' limited budget.

Tottenham and Porto have been tracking the 23-year-old and he was close to joining Palermo earlier according to the report.

The one complication is that Academica only own 45% of the player's registration. The rest belongs to his former clubs Ademia and Tourizense.

Moyes looking for a Silva lining

20/01/2012    11

David Moyes is believed to be monitoring the Portugal Under-21 international Adrien Silva having watched the midfielder playing for Académica Coimbra on Sunday. The Everton manager travelled to Portugal to attend Académica's 2-0 defeat by Vitória Guimarães and Silva, a 22-year-old on loan from Sporting Lisbon, is understood to have been his main focus. Sporting value the playmaker at around £5m, which may prove prohibitive to a permanent transfer to Everton in this transfer window, but the club do have financial problems and Moyes is trying to secure several loan deals before the deadline.

Kenwyne Jones linked with Goodison switch

19/01/2012    31

Kenwyne Jones has reportedly been linked with a move from Stoke City to Everton this month.

The Echo cite unspecified media reports for the link to a player who was a rumoured target of Liverpool's this time last year.

Jones, who has been playing second fiddle to Peter Crouch at the Britannia Stadium recently, is valued around £5m.

Latest on the Onouha rumour

19/01/2012    7

The Echo is now claiming that QPR are now more likely to land Nedum Onouha from Manchester City, despite Everton's rumoured interest in signing the £4M defender.

Blues in talks over new Vellios deal

18/01/2012    18

In a report suggesting that Everton "are considering reviving their interest" in AEK Athens defender, Kostas Manolas, The Mail claim that the Club is also in talks with Apostolos Vellios over a new contract.

The Greek striker hasn't played for the first team so far this year but scored a hat-trick for the Reserves this week and remains the top-scoring striker on the books with three Premier League goals.

His current deal doesn't expire for another two years but, if this report is true, David Moyes is clearly keen to lock the 19 year-old down on improved terms.

Wolfsburg still want Bily; Moyes wants more Silva

17/01/2012    50

Wolfsburg have rekindled their interest in Everton's out-of-favour midfielder, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, according to the Mail who report that the Bundesliga side have restarted talks following initial discussions over a £5m move for the Russian earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the same report claims David Moyes took in Academica's 2-0 defeat by Vitoria Guimaraes on Sunday as he ran the rule over Adrian Silva.

Silva, "a highly rated playmaker", is on loan from Sporting and was a regular for Portugal's Under 21s last season.

Cahill recommends Holman?

17/01/2012    6

A news post on an AZ Alkmaar fan site (so, yes, treat with the requisite pinches of salt) claims that Australian international Brett Holman has been recommended to Everton by his teammate Tim Cahill and that he has held preliminary talks with the Blues.

The 27 year-old has expressed his desire to leave the Dutch side this summer when his contract expires and was heavily linked with a switch to Aston Villa. With the prospect of a move to Villa Park apparently growing cold, cash-strapped Everton could now be in the frame. As an upcoming free agent, Holman would only cost a nominal fee.

Onuoha linked once again

17/01/2012    8

It wouldn't be a transfer window without Everton being linked with Nedum Onuoha and this time it's The Independent reporting that David Moyes wants to finally land the 25 year-old in a £4m deal.

Onuoha made a rare appearance for City against Wigan last night with Moyes looking on, but it remains to be seen if the Blues can get anywhere near even that modest evaluation of the player given the lack of funds available at Goodison Park.

Everton linked with Kalou move

16/01/2012    10

After Arsenal dropped their interest in the Ivorian forward, Everton are now being linked with a move for Chelsea's Salomon Kalou.

The forward is out of contract in the summer and The Times suggest that Andre Villas-Boas would be prepared to let Kalou go this month if a suitable offer is received. They report that Everton could make a move but correctly cite wages as a huge obstacle.

Kalou is on a reported £70,000 a week at Stamford Bridge and would probably need to take a pay cut if he was interested in a switch to Goodison Park.

Man Utd set to bid £22M for Rodwell

15/01/2012    52

With just half the transfer window left open, the dreadful CaughtOffside website appears to be making up stuff again, with Sir Alex supposedley readying a £22M bid for Jack Rodwell, who is currently injured.

Sparky wants our tootless tiger

13/01/2012    45

According to The Times, new QPR manager Mark Hughes wants to bring Tim Cahill and Steven Pienaar in as new players at Loftus Road!

Does Moyes really have money for Gibson?

11/01/2012    0

Everton are hoping to make Manchester United's Darron Gibson their first signing in the January transfer window.

Manager David Moyes has a limited transfer budget to work with despite selling Mikel Arteta to Arsenal for £10m last summer. The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder would cost around £2m.

Gibson is down the pecking order at United and wants regular football to boost his chances of appearing for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012.

Magaye Gueye... now 'Gedo' Nagy

12/01/2012    15

The agent of Egyptian striker Mohamed 'Gedo' Nagy claims Everton (along with six other Premier League clubs) have expressed an interest in his client.

Gedo, 27, is currently on the books of Al-Ahly in his homeland, but he is being strongly linked with a move to Europe and Menzo Messaoudi, director of Gedo's UK representatives Premier Pro, claims he has been in contact with West Brom, Swansea, Wigan, Everton, Blackburn, Norwich and Wolves.

"Gedo is a fantastic lad. Honest, hardworking and is a top professional," he told Sky Sports.

"His goalscoring record speaks for itself and his experience and sheer ability will benefit the right club.

"We are in talks with a few clubs at the moment, and hopefully we can bring an exciting talent to the Premier League.

"I am confident he will have a bigger impact than Amr Zaki did during his time at Wigan."

Gedo boasts an impressive record of 11 goals in 18 international outings and was also the top scorer at the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

Greek defender and Dutch striker linked

06/01/2012    8

The Rumour Mill keeps churning even though all signs point to David Moyes again having no money to spend in this month's transfer window.

The latest names linked with a move to Goodison are 20 year-old AEK Athens defender, Kostas Manolas, and 19 year-old Dutch striking prospect Luc Castaignos who is also wanted by Wigan, apparently.

Another Man Utd reject?

02/01/2012    10

Yet another transfer window claim from the Daily Mail has Everton supposedly showing interest in Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson, who is now surplus to requirements for septegenarian Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pienaar can leave Spurs... for £5M

02/01/2012    82

Tottenham Hotspur have told midfielder Steven Pienaar he can leave this month if Sunderland or another club match their £5 million valuation of the South African, so claims Goal.com.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp supposedly held a conversation with Pienaar last week in which it was concluded that the 29-year-old would be allowed to leave in the January transfer window as he seeks first-team opportunities.

Pienaar has struggled to settle at Tottenham since his £2.5m move from Everton last January and has not featured in a single Premier League game this season, being restricted to just three Europa League appearances.

Everton eyeing up Jordan Rhodes?

02/01/2012    17

Everton are supposedly the latest club to throw their hat into the ring for Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes. The 21-year-old Scotland international is on a remarkable run of form having scored 19 League One goals in just 16 starts this season, while also bagging hat-tricks for his country's Under 21 side.

Rubin Kazan in for Bilyaletdinov

31/12/2011    48

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov could be offered a route back to Russia if a report in the Mail suggesting that Rubin Kazan will offer Everton £6m for the midfielder is true.

Also the subject of rumoured interest from Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, Bilyaletdinov appears to be the most likely departure from Goodison this January as he looks for first-team football to bolster his claims to a place in Russia's Euro2012 squad.

Swansea win the race for Donnelly

29/12/2011    13

Swansea City look to have finally won the chase for Rory Donnelly, with an improved offer accepted by Cliftonville and personal terms agreed with the 19 year-old striking prospect.

The Blues were in pole position after lodging a higher bid than the one the Northern Irish club originally agreed with Swansea but now look to have lost out on Donnelly.

Another Rodwell invention?

29/12/2011    13

Unchastened by the shame of having AVB kill their "Rodwell to Chelsea" tales, the latest potential transfer invention is that Spurs will offer £20M plus Steven Pienaar for the promising young Everton midfielder.

In addition to being linked with an audacious loan move for Kaka — a "statement of intent by Daniel Levy" say the reports — Spurs are apparently looking to steal a march on Manchester United and Chelsea for Rodwell.

The story was lent a touch more credence by a tweet from Agent_ITK on Twitter who tweeted, "Looking likely that Steven Pienaar's loan move [to Everton] will be permanent with Jack Rodwell moving south."

Pienaar return still being mooted

27/12/2011    13

The Mail suggests Everton are still "leading the chase" to rescue Steven Pienaar from the doldrums of White Hart Lane next month, with Niko Kranjcar also potentially available.

Everton's Greek Takeaway

24/12/2011    23

Everton are ready to move for AEK Athens star Kostas Manolas, skysports.com claims. Everton are supposedly lining up a deal for Manolas - but they are not alone in checking on the highly-rated young stopper.

Chelsea rekindle interest in Rodwell

20/12/2011    43

Chelsea are ready to test Everton's resolve to keep hold of Jack Rodwell with a reported £20m bid when the transfer window opens next month.

The Telegraph and the Mail suggest that though the Londoners have yet to make contact with the Blues to lodge a bid (the latter paper says Chelsea will start at £12m), they are expected to as Andre Villas-Boas looks to strengthen his squad with a player who is staking his claim to be involved in England's Euro2012 bid next summer.

A move by Chelsea could spark a bidding war with Manchester United who have a long-standing interest in Rodwell.

Liverpool join race for Donnelly

19/12/2011    7

Liverpool have stepped into the race to sign Irish prospect Rory Donnelly, with Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor apparently star-struck over the sour-faced one getting in touch.

“It's not every day you get Kenny Dalglish ringing you,” said Lawlor. “He made it clear that Liverpool want to sign him and that they would be back in touch.”

Everton and Swansea have apparently had bids accepted for the striker and Liverpool's £100,000 offer will presumably get approval as well.

Wolfsburg lodge Bily enquiry

19/12/2011    21

Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga have reportedly started negotiations with Everton over a move for out-of-favour Russian international, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

The Germans apparently value Bily at around £5m but Everton are looking for closer to £7m.

More takeover chatter

19/12/2011    43

It's half-season ticket time so no surprise that rumours of an imminent takeover at Goodison are cropping up again.

The latest suggestion is that a deal to buy the club for £150m is in the final stages — this time it's Miami Dolphins owner, Steve Ross, who is supposed to be the interested party according to posts on various message boards and Twitter — but, of course, we've been here many times before.

Blackburn dud is newest target

18/12/2011    7

Aging midfielder Keith Andrews is supposedly much in demand by a host of savy Premier League managers, including David Moyes. The 31-year-old has been hounded out of Ewood Park by a hostile crowd and is currently on loan at Ipswich.

Moyes planning Jelavic bid

17/12/2011    1

Everton will go head-to-head with Sunderland in a battle to sign £4m-rated Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic according to the Scottish Sun.

The Croatian has scored 14 goals for the Glasgow side and manager Ally McCoist is resigned to losing him if teams from the Premier League come knocking.

£1.7M for Tavares

16/12/2011    10

Everton will have to stump up £1.7m if they want to sign Beira Mar's highly-rated defender Yohan Tavares.

It has been reported that Everton manager David Moyes is keen on a move for the 23-year-old and was hopeful of landing him for just £500,000.

But, according to reports in Portugal, Beira Mar will not let Tavares leave unless a club meets his £1.7m minimum fee release clause in January. A club source said: "He will only leave if a club pays the clause. We are not willing to negotiate."

French defender Tavares is considered one of the brightest prospects in the Portuguese league and has attracted interest from Stuttgart and Palermo as well as Everton.

Blues linked with Northern Irish starlet

15/12/2011    11

Everton are apparently rivalling Swansea City for Rory Donnelly, the highly-rated Northern Irish striking prospect.

The Welsh club had reportedly already agreed a fee with Cliftonville for the 19-year-old and Sky Sports "understand" that the Blues have also been given permission to hold talks "in the next 24 hours".

Cliftonville are expecting more interest from other clubs in the coming days as Donnelly and his advisors consider their options.

Whisper it quietly... Charlie Davies

12/12/2011    16

According to this story in The Echo, American striker Charlie Davies has emerged as an affordable answer to Everton's goalscoring problems.

Charlie Davies has been released by French side Sochaux — and DC United, where the 25-year-old spent a successful season on-loan, have decided not to pay the $1.2M it would cost them to sign him permanently.

Davies has won 16 caps for the USA and scored 11 goals in 26 games on loan with United in the recently ended MLS season.

DC United announced last Thursday that they were not exercising their option to sign him permanently — and reports in the French media have immediately linked him with a move to Everton.

The Blues have not confirmed the link but the modest transfer fee would be within Everton's limited means.

£1M for French goal-machine

09/12/2011    16

According to a report on the Mirror Football website this morning, Everton manager David Moyes is keeping a very close eye on Jeremy Perbet of Belgian side Mons, who is in prolific form.

Donovan return not close to fruition?

05/12/2011    40

They don't offer anything in the way of supporting evidence — except the forward's lack of commitment either way — but the Mail claims that Everton aren't anywhere close to bringing Landon Donovan back to Goodison for a second loan spell.

After turning the Blues down a year ago and opting for rest instead after his World Cup and MLS commitments, the American star made it known that he'd love to return to Everton one day.

With Donovan closing in on 30, many Blues are feeling it's now or never for the LA Galaxy player, particularly given how badly David Moyes's team needs an injection of pace and creativity.

With the domestic season in the US just finished and Galaxy on a tour of the Far East and Australia, Donovan has not had time to figure out his next move. Some observers say that because of a couple of injury troubles and yet more international action this year, that next move could well be to stay put in the California sun for another year.

Macheda in on loan

03/12/2011    12

Everton have supposedly expressed an interest in taking Manchester United's Federico Macheda on loan after Sir Alex Ferguson's comments regarding the Italian's future.

Ferguson said of a potential loan deal “Loan deals work well for all the young players in terms of getting game-time and that's what we're looking at with Macheda and Diouf. They need games, They're young and every young player wants to play and we have to give them that opportunity.”

Blues keeping tabs on Maynard

30/11/2011    20

Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard as negotiations over a new contract for the 24 year-old drag on without resolution.

The Daily Mail claims that Maynard, who has scored seven times already this season, could be a target of Everton's if he fails to agree terms with City and is available on a free transfer in the summer.

Liverpool looking to snatch Drenthe?

29/11/2011    15

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is set to steal Royston Drenthe from under Everton's noses according to unspecified 'reports'...

Euro2012 hopeful Defoe linked with Goodison switch

28/11/2011    9

Jermaine Defoe is being linked with a January move to Everton as he looks for regular first-team football ahead of next summer's European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

The striker has found opportunities limited at Tottenham following the arrivals of Rafael van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor and The Mirror report that Everton are one of a number of clubs being strongly linked with him.

Defoe demonstrated his goalscoring prowess at The Hawthorns at the weekend with one of Spurs' three goals in a 3-1 win.

Everton target trains with Arsenal

25/11/2011    10

Brek Shea, teenage defender with FC Dallas who David Moyes has been to watch play, and is therefore keen to bring to Everton, has joined Arsenal for a month of training as the MLS season closes.

Everton to loan Romelu Lukaku

23/11/2011    6

The Daily Mail claims that Everton will consider a loan move for Romelu Lukaku in January to bolster their forward line.

Villarreal midfielder may be a target

22/11/2011    17

Everton have reportedly targeted a move for Villarreal's creative midfielder Borja Valero.

Spurs striker a loan target?

22/11/2011    6

If you believe the Daily Mail and the usual slew of dubious internet sites, Everton are ready to turn to Tottenham outcast Roman Pavlyuchenko to boost their attacking options... they hope to secure a loan deal for the 29-year-old.
